Fighting Irish football hard at work in the community

Fighting Irish of Notre dame Prep School Habitate for HumanityForty-four members of the Notre Dame Prep football team put together a day of hard work on June 9, 2012 to benefit Habitat for Humanity - Oakland County.

The team members were joined by four NDP volleyball players and coach Zimm as they worked on raking, weeding, moving dirt and rocks, laying grass seed, planting and laying straw at a Habitat house in Pontiac.

"We accomplished so much and the [Habitat for Humanity coordinator] was very impressed with the kids and their work ethic," said a parent who was on hand. "They truly represented NDP well. Hope it's even bigger next year!"

On July 26, 27 and 28, Fighting Irish football will be helpied with a major fundraiser (dinner, auction and dancing) for Milford-based Community Sharing, an outreach center that feeds, clothes and offers emergency financial assistance to nearly 1000 needy people in the Huron Valley area. The team did a great job at the event, and made a terrific impression on all of the people who attended.

Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy is a private, Catholic, independent, coeducational day school located in Oakland County. Notre Dame's middle and lower divisions enroll students in jr. kindergarten through grade eight. All three divisions are International Baccalaureate "World Schools."
