The Church of St. Louis King of France in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, begun in 1868 by French Canadians, celebrated its 150th anniversary on Sunday, November 4, with a special Mass followed by a dinner and silent auction at the Town and Country Club. Marists have served the parish community since 1886.

"The Mass was just spectacular," Pastor John Sajdak, SM said. The church was festooned in flowers with all of the candles of the church lit, and the music by the dedicated choir was magnificent.

An estimated 250 worshippers filled the small nave. John, who's been the pastor for 2 1/2 years, said he believes the 400‐plus parishioners are drawn by tradition.

"People who like the traditional music, like the Gregorian chants and hymns and the traditional liturgy, come here," he said.
